Job Title: Receptionist

Location: Ringwood

Start Date: January 2018

Hours: Averaging 40 hours per week

Rotation: Mon, Wed, Thurs, Sun 8-5 / Tues 10-7 / Fri & Sat OFF

Essential: Veterinary Reception or Administration experience

Position reports to: Julie Marzetti (Head Receptionist) & Senior Management Team



An exciting opportunity has arisen for a friendly and enthusiastic experienced Receptionist/Telephonist to join our team. The successful candidate will need previous veterinary reception or administrative experience.   Who is passionate about customer service and is confident to interact with our clients providing a consistently high level of service and customer care.


The role will include meeting and greeting clients, booking appointments, taking payments, dispensing medication, dealing with customer queries face to face and over the phone and working behind scenes to provide reception support. Experience with, or a love of, animals would be advantageous and as this is a busy and demanding role you will need to be computer literate and able to cope well under pressure.



  • Meeting and greeting clients/pets

  • Booking appointments

  • Answering and forwarding phone calls - record, pass on and personally follow up enquires promptly and efficiently

  • Taking payments & Cashing up

  • Collecting claim forms

  • Dealing with Emergencies calls and paperwork inline with the Company Emergency Policy



  • Excellent communication skills

  • Able to Handle Pressure & prioritise workload

  • Able to deal with difficult situations

  • Able to work well in a team and able to work on own initiative

  • Able to be flexible and adapt to changes within the growing practice
