Lead by Harry Scott, our Orthopaedic team is well equipped to deal with all orthopaedic and spinal conditions, from a simple fracture to advanced joint replacement surgery. In-house CT scanning & DR radiology equipment assists quick diagnosis, giving all pets a better chance of a favourable result.


Harry Scott

Harry Scott BVSc, CertSAD, CBiol, MIBiol, DSAS(Orth), FRCVS - RCVS Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Surgery (Orthopaedics)

Harry graduated from the University of Liverpool. Whilst working at the PDSA he developed interests in both orthopaedics and dermatology culminating in RCVS Certificates in both disciplines. He was a founding partner of the Godiva Veterinary Referral Centre in Coventry. Harry became a fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons by examination in canine spinal surgery in 1992, and in 1999 he obtained the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Surgery (Orthopaedics).

Harry is an RCVS recognised specialist in orthopaedics. He has authored a number of scientific papers and co-authored an orthopaedic textbook. Harry lectures regularly to veterinarians in the UK.

Mark Bush

Mark Bush MA, VetMB, CertSAS, MRCVS

Mark qualified from Cambridge in 1999. He spent four years in a busy small animal practice in Swindon where he developed a keen interest in surgery and passed his RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2003. After travelling in India and South East Asia, Mark worked for four years in a small animal referral practice in Bristol, focusing on orthopaedic and spinal surgery. During this time he was a part-time Resident in Orthopaedics at the University of Bristol and enrolled in the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Surgery (Orthopaedics). Mark’s main professional interests include orthopaedic trauma and the burgeoning field of joint replacement. Outside of work, Mark is a keen fly fisherman and cook.

Phil Witte

Phil Witte BVSc, BSc, MRCVS

Philip qualified from Bristol University Veterinary School in 2005, and worked in mixed practice in Herefordshire for two years, followed by a year in South Africa working with buffalo. On his return to the UK, he took a position as Orthopaedic Intern at SCVS, and has now been offered a Residency in Orthopaedics here for the next three years.

David Szabo

David Szabo DVM, MRCVS

David graduated from Cornell University in New York with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 2003 and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2008. He spent the last year living and working in Zurich. He has particular interest in the anaesthesia of companion animals and the effects of nutrition on disease.
