Tina started her career in a local first option practice in 1996, once qualified in 1999 Tina moved to work at the PDSA, where she progressed to Head Nurse. At this time, Tina developed a keen interest in Dermatology and supporting student nurses, achieving a Nurses Diploma in Dermatology, and gained a D32/33 award to train student nurses.

Tina joined SCVS in 2010 and has worked within our wards, surgery and anaesthesia departments, achieving the Vets Now Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care and the ESVPS Certificate in Anaesthesia.

As the dermatology department has grown, Tina re- focussed on her previous specialism and joined the Dermatology team as the Head Dermatology Nurse. The Dermatology Department specialises in treating skin, hair, and ear conditions.  Within this role Tina provides support to the clinical team, assisting during consultations and procedure, which incorporates Tina’s interest in fear free handling, and providing support to our clients and their much loved pets. Tina is currently studying towards the top-up Degree in Veterinary Nursing, and is then looking to undertake the VTS in Dermatology.

Tina took an interest in training our Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA’s) team when starting at SCVS. Our wonderful VCA team provides excellent support to our nursing team, assisting them to achieve excellent patient care. As the team grew Tina became their manager encouraging work-place development and training to learn new skills and achieve their Veterinary Care Assistant qualification. Additionally, Tina has trained as a Mental Health First Aider to provide support and encourage a positive workplace, wellbeing culture.
