Juan M. Marti LV CertSAO MVM DACVS DECVS MRCVS graduated from the University of Zaragoza Veterinary School in 1990, after spending his last year at Glasgow University as an Erasmus student. He remained at Glasgow, where he obtained a Certificate in Small Animal Orthopedics (Cert SAO) in 1992, and a Master of Veterinary Medicine (MVM) in 1993. After one year of private practice in London, he moved to North Carolina State University in 1995, as a small animal surgery resident. After finishing his residency in 1998, he moved to Mississippi State University as Clinical Instructor and later as Assistant Professor in Small Animal Surgery. In 1999, he became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and, a few months later, of the European College. After one year in a private referral hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and another one as an Assistant Professor at Ohio State University, he returned to the private sector in 2002, as a partner in Veterinary Surgical Specialists, a multispecialty referral hospital in Chesapeake/Virginia Beach, Virginia. In 2015, he returned to Europe.
