Our Cardiology Residents

Meet Alice and Rafi, our Cardiology Residents.

Residency in Cardiology

Alice and Rafi are passionate about cardiology and have truly caught the "cardio bug." Over the course of their intensive three-year residency, they are immersed in learning all they can about veterinary cardiology. Both are doing exceptionally well and have become vital members of our cardiology team. While you’ll often see them on the clinical front, working closely with pet owners and their animals, all of their decisions are carefully supervised and reviewed by our senior specialists - Tobi, Vicky, and Omri.

What is their special interest? They may not be completely sure about that at this stage in their careers, but feel free to ask them if you meet them during your consultation!

What is a Cardiology Resident?

A cardiology resident is a veterinary surgeon undergoing a rigorous three-year training program focused on intensive cardiology under the mentorship of board-certified specialists. Residents are actively involved in clinical practice, gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of cases. Throughout the residency, they must pass two challenging examinations, engage in research, contribute to training other vets, and meet weekly learning objectives. There are only a few centres in the UK that offer residency programs, and SCVS is proud to play a key role in shaping the next generation of veterinary cardiology specialists.
