A Story of Resilience: Meet Margot!

Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a rare neuromuscular condition that can affect dogs, causing weakness in their muscles, especially after activity. In some cases, it also leads to a condition called megaesophagus, where the esophagus struggles to move food to the stomach, making eating and drinking a challenge.

Recently, we had the pleasure of treating Margot, a sweet and spirited labrador puppy, who was diagnosed with MG. She came to us showing classic signs of the condition, and our Neurology team worked closely with her wonderful family to create a tailored treatment and management plan.

With the help of medications and a Bailey chair—a special upright feeding device—Margot is now thriving! While adjusting to her new feeding routine has been a challenge, her family’s dedication and love have made all the difference. Seeing her wagging tail and playful energy again is a testament to their incredible care and her fighting spirit. We couldn’t be prouder of Margot and her family for their perseverance.
