Veterinary Nurse Training

Southern counties veterinary specialists are happy to announce the start of its student veterinary nurse program.

As part of a continuing progressive referral practice we believe that we have the abilities to train exceptional veterinary nurses and with the great changes that are being made at SCVS with the expansion of discipline specific buildings and world renowned veterinary surgeons it only made sense to add our focus to the training of veterinary nurses.

Our student nurses are chosen from our well trained Animal nursing assistant department, this gives us the benefit of the candidates having been trained in basic veterinary nursing skills before being promoted on to the level 3 diploma apprenticeship.

The 3 year course will see our students move around our departments being trained by skilled staff that has access to up to date techniques and equipment.

SCVS will be sending our students to MYF training based in Aldershot, being partnered with MYF Training will give our students access to exceptional lecturing provided by skilled vets and nurses and It will allow SCVS to offer our services such as endoscopy, CT, and intensive care nursing to other student nurses from the local area to gather experience for their training logs.

We are excited about the future of veterinary nurse training here at Southern counties and the projects that will accompany the program.
