Veterinary Medicine Oncology Internship

Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is a busy multi-disciplinary referral centre in the heart of the New Forest. We are committed to providing a high standard of patient care, with specialist services in anaesthesia and analgesia, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, neurology, cardiology, dermatology, medicine, oncology and imaging.

We are looking for 1 additional Medicine Oncology Intern to join our team, where you will work under the direct supervision of 4 ECVIM Diplomates, 1 ACVIM Diplomate and 3 ECVIM Residents and be involved in a wide variety of challenging cases. The ideal candidate should have 1 – 2 years’ experience in small animal practice or have completed a rotating small animal internship. The post would be particularly suitable for those wishing to pursue a Medicine Residency. Candidates must be members of the RCVS or eligible for membership, have good English language skills, be highly motivated, work well within a team and have enthusiasm for the discipline.

This position provides a salary of £22,776 per annum, holiday allowance of 28 days inc PHs, a 52 week contract and CPD of £1500 and 5 days. You will work be required to participate in a rota working on-calls, nights, weekends and a share of bank holidays.

The internship will be for a period of 12 months, commencing January 2022.
