Hours: 27-32 hours/week

Rotation: Tuesday – Friday 8:30am- 5:30pm (based on 32 hours)

Salary: Salary dependant on experience

Essential: Fully qualified registered RVN

Position Reports to: Ellen Martin (Head Ophthalmology Nurse)

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic RVN to join our growing Ophthalmology Team. No ophthalmology experience is needed, as this is the perfect opportunity for an RVN with a keen interest to develop their understanding and practical abilities.

The ophthalmology nurse will lead ophthalmology-specific inpatient care and assist the clinician during consults and in theatre. Clinical duties include admission/discharge of patients, administering of perioperative/postoperative medications, assistance in the induction and monitoring of anaesthesia, preparing patients for surgery, supporting in theatre including occasional scrub assisting, recovery of patients and instrument cleaning and care when required.
