An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered veterinary nurse to join the neurology team at SCVS. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and passionate nurse with a keen interest in veterinary neurology. We are looking for an individual who has prior experience working in Veterinary referrals and who wishes to advance their nursing knowledge and skills, within the specialist discipline of neurology.
The role will involve providing the highest standard of care to patients within the neurology department. Daily duties include nursing care of hospitalised patients (either in ICU or day wards), performing anaesthetic monitoring of patients during advanced diagnostic procedures and anaesthesia and surgical preparation for those undergoing surgical interventions. This role will include duties deputising the head neurology nurse, such as the daily running of MR schedules and maintenance of specialist equipment.
Salary: up to £33,000 for the right candidate
Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is a multidisciplinary referral centre currently undergoing extensive expansion and improvement of the facilities. The practice is located in the South of England close to the New Forest National Park and South Coast offering easy access to a multitude of outdoor activities. Bournemouth beach has just been voted number one beach in the UK by Tripadvisor and is a 20-minute drive from the practice. The area offers good access to regional and international airports and has excellent road and rail links to London.
Our wards team is a nurse lead department consisting of dedicated wards nurses, rotating nurses, student veterinary nurses and veterinary care assistants who provide 24 hour care to our hospitalised patients and work alongside all other departments within the hospital.
Minimum requirements are for a Qualified Veterinary Nurse with current RCVS registration. Advanced nursing qualifications and an interest in teaching/clinical coach would be advantageous for this role.
