As the day transitions into night, our exceptional team of skilled RVNs and dedicated VCAs gracefully step into action, poised to provide unparalleled care throughout the twilight hours.
On average, our night shift is supported by a team of 3-4 dedicated night nurses, complemented by 2 twilight nurses, and three VCAs working diligently in the wards each night. From the peaceful twilight hours to the serene depths of the night, we offer a reassuring and expert touch, ensuring the utmost care for every beloved patient in our charge. This is an exciting opportunity to help us in providing a professional service with OOH and emergency cases received within normal hours from Referring Vets and other OOH providers.
Our facility boasts an anaesthesia team available around the clock for out-of-hours emergency procedures, as well as dedicated specialists on call for each discipline to provide emergency support for inpatients. We house two primary dog wards, an ICU/high-dependency unit, and a separate cat ward, ensuring comprehensive care tailored to each patient's needs. Our case load varies significantly, offering a diverse and challenging environment for our team. We're seeking passionate professionals eager to make a difference in the lives of animals. Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is a multidisciplinary referral centre, located in the South of England, close to the New Forest National Park and South Coast, offering easy access to a multitude of outdoor activities. Bournemouth beach has just been voted number one beach in the UK by Tripadvisor and is only a 20-minute drive from the practice. The area also offers good access to regional and international airports, with excellent road and rail links to London.
Qualities We Seek
We invite applications from Registered Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS) with varying levels of experience and diverse backgrounds, Cert AVP ECC is an advantage. Thriving in a collaborative team environment, you should possess the confidence to take initiative and actively contribute to the care of our high-dependency patients.
A work pattern that proves out of hours doesn’t mean all hours
A full-time position is ideally required however we are open to discussion re part time and different shift patterns. The shifts will be 13 hours and will include a share of weekend nights and bank holidays.
